Singapore-based startup Vivident raises $1.5 million in seed funding to launch MoeLive, a revolutionary protocol combining AI-generated anime characters with community-driven development features.
Vivident, a Singapore-based startup focused on developing AI-powered character IP technology, has announced the closure of its seed funding round with $1.5 million. The young startup founded in 2024 attracted much-needed investment from several venture capitals led by Mashup Ventures, TheVentures, South Korean Modhaus, Hashed, US-based Sfermion, Decima Fund, and Hong Kong-based CMCC Global’s Titan Fund, among others.
According to the announcement, the secured funds will play a crucial role in the development of MoeLive protocol, a web3-focused platform that creates anime-style character IPs by tapping into generative AI technology to enable vibrant community engagement. The strategic launch of the MoeLive protocol will first involve the beta service by the first half of 2025, with a simultaneous release in South Korea, Japan, and the United States by the end of the year.
Under the leadership of GD Kim, the founder and CEO of Vivident, the future growth of MoeLive protocol is heavily bolstered by years of experience in the gaming industry.
“GD and his team have an impressive track record of building consumer products across Web2 and blockchain technologies. What sets MoeLive apart isn’t just their innovative application of AI technology — it’s their deep understanding of fan culture. They are pioneering a new form of entertainment where communities come together to nurture and grow alongside their favorite characters. By blending Japan’s character-nurturing culture with the idol industry framework of Korea, MoeLive offers a truly unique and captivating approach,” Jonathan Cheung, Principal at Titan Fund, noted.
The strategic launch of the MoeLive protocol has coincided with the ongoing mainstream adoption of digital assets and Web3 projects, fueled by institutional investors. Furthermore, more nations are signaling the adoption of blockchain technology to solve systemic economic challenges, including unemployment and reducing the respective national debt.
After the official launch later this year, MoeLive protocol will entail the creation of advanced AI characters, with distinct personalities. Essentially, the MoeLive protocol will enable fans to participate in AI character development via different activities and voting.
As a community-driven protocol, the MoeLive platform will allow multiple users to collectively nurture and interact with the AI-generated characters. The MoeLive platform users will have access to real-time chats, live streaming, and social media integrations.
The MoeLive platform will also feature autonomous performance to help deliver authentic entertainment experiences through immersive AI-generated content. With Japan’s anime culture on the rise, the Vivident startup team intends to combine it with the K-pop element.
“Our goal isn’t simply to create AI characters, but to develop character IPs that grow and evolve together with their fans,” Kim added.
