Treasure DAO Greenlights Migration to ZKsync, Mainnet Launch Expected Soon

Treasure DAO confirms that it is working closely with over ten blockchain games on its web3 gaming console for this transition.

Decentralized gaming ecosystem Treasure has revealed plans to transition from the Arbitrum blockchain to ZKsync. The decision was shared in an official announcement via its X account,  following an “overwhelming” vote from Treasure DAO community members.

According to the DAO, 99.5% of voters approved the proposal, which includes launching the Treasure L2 as part of the ZKsync ecosystem.

Treasure DAO Embraces ZKsync’s ZK Stack Technology

Treasure DAO put out the proposal indicating its interest in migrating to ZKsync earlier in the month. The move aligns with the organization’s efforts to improve scalability and security, as ZKsync’s ZK Stack technology offers exactly those.

Notably, though, the DAO originally planned to leverage Arbitrum Orbit to achieve this aim. However, it soon found ZKsync’s infrastructure as an alternative that better suits its long-term goals after carrying out a thorough review.

While the DAO seeks to use the migration to directly boost its performance, scalability, and interoperability, what may not be so direct, that it also hopes to achieve, is the fact that having all these improvements will undoubtedly make the platform more suitable for the growing number of blockchain-based games in its ecosystem.

Mainnet Launch Anticipated within 2 Months

In the coming days, a new public testnet called Topaz, is expected to launch. This testnet will give developers and players some headstart as they get to explore the new environment and build on it ahead of the full mainnet launch.

For the mainnet, however, expectations are that it will launch at most two months from now. The official announcement by the DAO reads in part:

“The mainnet is targeted to launch within the next 1.5 to 2 months.”

Meanwhile, Treasure DAO is also looking to execute a token swap as part of the migration process. The swap will be between its ecosystem and the ZKsync Foundation.

According to the organization, this swap is an all-important step that will happen in the coming days soon. The special attention to the swap may be understable given that it will facilitate the smooth transfer of assets and ensure the continued functionality of its platform on the new blockchain.

Finally, Treasure DAO confirms that it is working closely with over ten blockchain games on its web3 gaming console. Its aim is to help these games (developers and players included) to transition smoothly.

Per the organization, the gaming community can expect the migration to ZKsync to bring out the best user experience. That is, without disrupting ongoing gameplay or development efforts.
