Businesses and developers can now send US Dollars over the Lightning Network.

Strike, one of the world’s leading digital payment provider built on Bitcoin’s Lightning Network, today announced that US-based businesses can now start using its Application Programming Interface (API) technology. This follows after the company CEO Jack Mallers recently took to his Twitter page to issue an update on the matter.

Per Mallers’ announcement, businesses in the US may now integrate Lightning Network using Strike’s API technology. But more importantly, such businesses will now also be able to offer instantaneous transfers for their clients, he says.

Strike to Use API to Compete with Other Payment Giants

As it were, the API technology helps to convert Bitcoin into any local currency of a user’s choice in seconds. However, a few well-known payment platforms already offer similar services, and this was duly acknowledged by Mallers. He said in part:

“Businesses and developers can now send US Dollars over the Lightning Network in the same way they do today with legacy payment networks such as SWIFT, ACH, Visa, and more.”

Nonetheless, the CEO was also quick to note that Strike’s API integration will bring even more benefits to its clients. According to the CEO, Strike’s API is:

“A new, cheaper, faster, open, global payments network for payments of any size, to anywhere, by anyone.”

He reiterated that businesses will be able to cut cross-border costs while gamers can also cheer about enabling US dollar micropayments.

Meanwhile, the announcement also instructs developers on how to integrate the API into their products. They will simply go to dashboards, log in with their Strike account and generate API keys to carry out the integration.

Mallers has now beckoned companies that are interested in offering better user experiences to latch on to this opportunity. He also stated that he expects the likes of CashApp and Square to jump on it as well.
