Skrill Announces Support for 10 Additional Crypto Assets

In 2020, Skrill was identified as a major driver of digital currency adoption bringing crypto assets to millions of users.

Digital payment brand Skrill, a subsidiary of Paysafe, has announced support for additional crypto assets in a press release. The specialized payment platform will now support another 20 cryptocurrencies in its online wallet. This brings the total number of cryptocurrencies on the platform to 35 for users in the United States.

The expanded portfolio is also available on NETELLER, another of Paysafe’s patented online wallets. The additions include Aave (AAVE), Balancer (BAL), Compound (COMP), Curve (CRV), Dogecoin (DOGE), Maker (MKR), Polygon (MATIC) and Uniswap (UNI) to mention a few.

Again, Skrill has launched additional transactional services in 11 other US cities. Earlier in March, it had partnered with Coinbase to bring its crypto offerings to customers in 37 states in the USA. With this new collaboration, US consumers in 48 states will be able to buy and sell cryptocurrencies.

Speaking to clarify the move, a senior vice president of Paysafe, Rupinder Singh said:

“After a surge in overall activity in the industry we’re seeing more interest in cryptocurrency than ever from our digital wallet customers, both current and new.”

In an internal survey conducted by the company in May, 8111 participants were recruited for the study across 7 countries. Of these, 38% claimed they’d either invested in or bought a cryptocurrency, and 84% had heard of at least one cryptocurrency, with 64% of the respondents recognizing Bitcoin.

This shows the average customer’s disposition towards digital assets. Consequently, the aim of the company in adding more digital assets is to make it easier for Skrill or NETELLER customers interested in cryptocurrency to start.

Cointelegraph had in 2020 identified Skrill as a major driver of digital currency adoption bringing crypto assets to millions of users. The traditional payment platform allows fiat-to-crypto conversions and also crypto-to-crypto conversion services.
