The inaugural CR7 NFT collection features seven animated statues with four rarity levels. Each of the statues portrays iconic moments in Ronaldo’s life and career.
Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has announced the launch of its first Cristiano Ronaldo NFT collection. The CR7 NFT collection will be available from Friday, November 18.
Earlier in June, Binance revealed a multi-year partnership with the football legend. The partnership hoped to leverage Ronaldo’s popularity to introduce Web3 to a new audience base.
According to Binance co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer, He Yi, the exchange believes the metaverse and blockchain represent the future of the internet. Yi noted the firm’s delight in the collaboration with Cristiano to help more people understand blockchain. Yi believes the partnership will also help Binance display how it is building Web3 infrastructure for the sports and entertainment industry.
On his part, Ronaldo noted it was important to him to do something for those fans given the role of his fans in his success. He said, “With Binance, I was able to make something that not only captures the passion of the game but rewards fans for all the years of support.”
Features of the CR7 NFT Collection
The inaugural CR7 NFT collection features seven animated statues with four rarity levels: Normal(N), Rare (R), Super Rare (SR), and Super Super Rare (SSR). Each of the animated statues portrays iconic moments in Ronaldo’s life and career.
The collection will be available for sale on Binance for as low as 77 BUSD for the normal rarity statues and as high as 10,000 BUSD for the SSR statues. The auction will last for 24 hours and the NFTs will be awarded to the highest bidder.
Also, each rarity level comes with its exclusive benefits, including personal messages from the football legend, autographed CR7 merchandise, access to future CR7 NFT airdrops, and more. It is expected that subsequent editions of the CR7 NFT collection will be available in early 2023.
CR7 Mystery Boxes
Meanwhile, new users who complete KYC on Binance.com will get a Cristiano Ronaldo Mystery Box. These boxes are available for the first 1.5 million users to sign up with the referral ID, RONALDO. Likewise, users of Binance.us will get a free NFT souvenir when their USD deposits exceed preset thresholds. Regardless, all CR7 NFT collections will be available exclusively on Binance.com.
