Porsche Presents Cheaper Version of the All-Electric Taycan to Compete Tesla

Porsche presented their newest car – the Taycan 4S, which is the third version of their new all-electric Taycan series.

In recent news, Porsche has presented another version of their new all-electric Taycan. The new model is called Taycan 4S and comes with the same chassis, suspension, and permanent magnet synchronous motors. Just a few weeks ago in September, the company introduced the electric Taycan in general, Taycan Turbo S and Taycan Turbo in particular.

This “cheap” version is a little bit slower, lighter, and much cheaper. By saying cheap, we mean around $100,000. While the fast and powerful versions of the Taycan costs $185,000 for the Turbo S and $150,900 for the Turbo version, the Taycan 4S standard version cost $103,800 and has a 79.2 kWh battery pack and two electric motors that produce 429 horsepower. Additionally, the owner can boost the total number of horsepower by engaging launch control. Then you can reach around 522 BHP. As you can see, the new cheap version is almost more than $80,000 cheaper than the original versions.

Moreover, people who still want more horsepower and feel that 522 BHP could be too slow for them, can also choose the performance battery plus edition of the 4S. This version costs $110,380 and has a 93,4 battery pack. This edition can boost up to 563 BHP, so a shy 40 horsepower more.

Both of these cars have a top speed of 155 miles an hour and they both can travel from 0 – 60 MPH in a little under 4 seconds – 3,8.

While the car is currently introduced to the wider public and officially announced by the company, it will only arrive in stores in spring 2020. Currently, customers can purchase Taycan Turbo S which can achieve 616 BHP and can boost up to 751 BHP with the launch control enabled. It goes from 0 – 60 in 2.6 seconds and is the most expensive Taycan in the series.

Other Car Companies Enter Tough Competition with Tesla

Many of the top car manufacturing companies at the moment are developing their own Tesla competitors, thus entering the electric car industry. Many companies such as Audi, Jaguar, BMW, Volvo, etc., will introduce their electric visions in 2020, and Tesla quite possibly could be in trouble. With the new Taycan 4S price around $100,000, that marks a serious competition in terms of price when comparing the two companies.

Also, Ford is planning to enter the electric vehicle market with a new all-electric Mustang SUV. Generally speaking, almost all vehicle companies now have a selling electric vehicle.

Stock Price Of Porsche

When speaking about the Porsche stock price and how has it performed after this news, we should say that the stock is operating very healthy. In the past days, it has jumped from EUR 57.94 on Thursday, October 8 to EUR 62.72 today. It looks like this event was highly anticipated by the Porsche shareholders and stock investors. And by looking at the chart history, it seems like investing in car companies, before they make a new model introduction, can be a fairly legit investment strategy. However, investors should always make decisions based on their own conclusions and experience.
