The $4 million prize pool will be awarded in PIXEL tokens, Guild Runes, and exclusive in-game items, with weekly and seasonal payouts for top players and guilds.

Pixels, the Ethereum-based farming and social game on the Ronin network, has officially announced its second Guild Wars season, “Spore Sports.” Building on the success of its inaugural season, this new competition raises the stakes, with $4 million worth of [NC] tokens up for grabs.

Guild Wars Season 1 was a breakthrough for the Pixels community, offering engaging gameplay that resulted in more PIXEL tokens being burned than distributed. The positive feedback from players inspired Pixels to launch an even bigger and better event.

Three Months of Gameplay

According to a recent report, the new competition is scheduled to last for three months starting December 10, 2024, to March 4, 2025. The platform believes Spore Sports will challenge players to join guilds and compete in mushroom farming, strategic sabotage of rivals, and leaderboard climbing for a chance to win PIXEL tokens, Guild Runes, and exclusive in-game items.

The rewards will be distributed to winners on a weekly basis and at the end of the season.

Commenting on the upcoming season, Luke Barwikowski, founder and CEO of Pixels said the team decided to expand the price pool from the $85,000 it rolled out last year to $4 million worth of PIXEL to set a new standard in the industry.

“With this event, we’re experimenting to find out what’s possible in Web3 gaming and laying the groundwork for regular, large-scale competitions that will create a positive outcome for the ecosystem,” Barwikowski said.

He further disclosed that a notable addition in Season 2 is the introduction of tier-4 Ultimate Items. According to him, these rare, game-changing artifacts can only be unlocked through specific in-game activities, adding an extra layer of strategy and competition.

Participation Requirements

The team announced that participation in Spore Sports is exclusive to guild members only. Players are required to become a member in order to compete in the game. Additionally, the strategy encourages gamers to form alliances before the event begins.

Pixels said the focus on collaboration and competition is part of its vision of fostering a vibrant community within the game.

Since its migration to the Ronin network in late 2023, Pixels has grown rapidly, amassing over 8 million players. The game’s first Guild Wars season played a pivotal role in this success, while the PIXEL token has also shown strong performance, despite minor fluctuations over the past few days.

The platform has raised the bar for blockchain gaming by developing innovative ways to engage players and build a sustainable ecosystem.
