The new ChatJD by JD.com is applicable in “content generation” and “man-machine dialogue”. It can also be used for “user intent understanding”, “information extraction”, and “emotion classification”.

Chinese e-commerce company JD.com is planning to launch an “industrial version” of ChatGPT dubbed ChatJD. ChatGPT caught global attention with its excellent performance, marking a significant shift in the development of AI technology. The technology has attained a high level of fluency with an amazing dialogue ability through the innovation of algorithms. It also deploys human feedback reinforcement learning in the swift realization of document translation, code and text generation, business copywriting, and dialogue output tasks. OpenAI developed the technology as a chatbot that gives human-like responses to questions.

While ChatGPT has substantial capabilities, there are still some defects, especially regarding credibility and accuracy. This is because the technology is not infused with vertical industry knowledge, which is essential. To bridge the gap, JD.com will integrate its Clouds Yanxi AI application platform with prior industrial practices to roll out ChatJD.

JD.com is Introducing ChatJD

According to an English translation of a statement by JD.com, ChatJD aims to create an industrial version of ChatGPT with the needed advantages, high frequency, and other lacking features of ChatGPT. Hence, the incoming technology will be immersed in vertical industries. JD.com explained that the “ChatJD intelligence human-computer dialogue platform” is a dialogue platform. It will understand and generate tasks in natural language processing. In addition, ChatJD will function in two fields- retail and finance. The company detailed:

“Thanks to JD Cloud’s 10 years of deep cultivation and accumulation of real scenarios in the retail and financial fields, it has a 4-layer knowledge system, more than 40 independent subsystems, more than 3,000 intents and 30 million high-level Quality question and answer knowledge points, e-commerce knowledge map covering more than 10 million self-operated products, more vertical and focus.”

Furthermore, the new ChatJD by JD.com is applicable in “content generation” and “man-machine dialogue.” It can also be used for “user intent understanding,” “information extraction,” and “emotion classification.” ChatJD will be useful in customer consultation and services, as well as product summary generation.

Many tech giants have announced ChatGPT-like technology following its popularity. As the week began on Monday, Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL) unveiled “Bard,” an AI chatbot technology. When Bard officially launches in the coming weeks, it will compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Google is making Bard available to “trusted testers” before it is open to the general market.

Alibaba (NYSE: BABA) recently revealed it is working on a technology similar to ChatGPT, which is currently in the testing phase at the company. While ChatGPT fails in generative AI, Alibaba said it has been working on generative AI since 2017.

While other tech giants are working on a rival, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) announced that its newly-improved Bing runs on OpenAI’s GPT technologies.

MSFT is down 2.59% to $105.70 in pre-market trading.
