The launch of Immutable Passport comes shortly after the company introduced a new gaming solution that allows developers to build games that eliminate transaction fees.
Blockchain gaming developer Immutable has announced the official release of its new wallet infrastructure, named Immutable Passport.
In a recent announcement, the company revealed that Passport is an innovative universal sign-on and wallet solution designed to streamline player access to online games and marketplaces.
The new product allows users to move their identities, game achievements, and digital assets from one platform to another without the fear of losing their assets.
Google and Apple Access
Immutable described the wallet infrastructure as a simple and secure onboarding solution for game studios and online marketplaces.
According to the company, Passport has a passwordless sign-on and automated wallet creation. This simple login method allows users to access the platform through their Google and Apple accounts.
Similarly, users can interact with Passport using their email addresses without providing the traditional seed phrases and private keys associated with crypto wallets.
The firm said the launch of the new product marks the end of intricate sign-ups and onboarding processes that have long characterized online gaming platforms.
“It’s incredibly frustrating to spend countless hours building a superb game only to lose potential players because of a complex and cumbersome sign-up process. That’s why our developer partners love Immutable Passport,” said Robbie Ferguson, Immutable president.
Ferguson further stated that Passport helps game developers improve user acquisition, optimize transaction conversion rates, and enable players to explore other opportunities in the GameFi sector.
Immutable Passport Integrated into Gods Unchained
Immutable announced that five crypto games and marketplaces adopted the wallet solution upon its launch on December 19.
The product has already been successfully integrated into Gods Unchained, a popular tactical card trading game on the blockchain. Currently, the game has about 450,000 registered players.
Immutable said that players who use the new wallet infrastructure on Gods Unchained will receive free non-fungible tokens (NFTs) airdrop as an in-game cosmetic item until December 31, 2023.
Other Web 3.0 games that have embraced Passport are Blocklete Golf, Bleacher Report, Watch2Earn, TokenTrove, and AtomicHub. With these integrations combined, the wallet infrastructure now boasts a user base of over 500,000 people.
In addition to Passport, Immutable has introduced a dashboard that automatically displays after logging in. The dashboard is a centralized hub empowering players to “find new games with ease, store and add funds, link 3rd party wallets, and manage all [their] in-game items within one familiar experience.”
Immutable Launches Gas-Free Gaming Solution

On December 14, the company announced the launch of its next-generation, zero-knowledge-proof scaling solution called Immutable zkEVM. The product, scheduled to debut early next year, uses state-of-the-art cryptography to discreetly cover gas costs, rendering fees invisible and nonexistent for end users.
The Immutable zkEVM is designed to enable game studios to cover gas expenses for all Immutable Passport users.
