IBM and Salesforce Announce Expanded Partnership to Boost Adoption of AI and Cloud Data

IBM and Salesforce have been already working together and now the two entities are determined to enable global enterprises to seamlessly leverage the power of artificial intelligence (AI).

International Business Machines Corp (NYSE: IBM), a global provider of cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) expertise, has announced a strategic partnership with Salesforce Inc (NYSE: CRM) to further enhance its existing business models. Moreover, both entities have been working together to advance the adoption of trusted AI and data ecosystems in different global enterprises.

Following the announcement, IBM stock surged around 2.5 percent on Tuesday during the early New York session to trade at about $174.11. On the other hand, CRM stock continued to consolidate around $285.79 at the time of this report.

Closer Look at IBM and Salesforce Partnership

According to the announcement, the IBM Watson platform and IBM Granite series model will be integrated with the Salesforce Einstein 1 platform. Additionally, IBM will join the Salesforce Zero Copy partner network to enable seamless integration between IBM watsonx and Salesforce Data Cloud.

Choosing the right foundation models is essential to every organization’s AI strategy and a key determinant of how quickly projects move from pilot to production. IBM and Salesforce are working together to make it easier to navigate the complex generative AI landscape by helping clients select the right LLM for their business needs,” Ritika Gunnar, General Manager and Product Management of Data and AI at IBM, noted.

Through the strategic partnership, Salesforce has joined the AI Alliance to strengthen its reliable customer tools. Furthermore, the AI Alliance is an international initiative consisting of over 100 organizations working together to develop responsible artificial intelligence.

Market Picture

The strategic partnership between IBM and Salesforce will further bolster the respective businesses amid heightened competition in the cloud and AI sectors. Notably, IBM has more than 4k entities spanning different sectors such as government and corporations.

Ultimately, the customers of both entities will significantly benefit from the seamless management of data through various AI tools. Consequently, enterprises can streamline their customer relationship management (CRM) and internal processes to increase profitability and improve their customer service.
