The UK IT support company Supreme Systems shows how the Internet of Things can benefit small and medium-sized enterprises in its newly-published infographic.

Supreme Systems, the UK company that provides expert IT support in Coventry and the West Midlands, has recently published an infographic looking at what the Internet of Things can do for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The company’s infographic displays how the Internet of Things can benefit enterprises: customer satisfaction, financial performance and overall efficiency. Besides, the infographic covers the opportunities that the Internet of Things can open up for research and product development. The factors to consider when deploying the IoT are considered as well: security, open source and proprietary standards, etc.

Supreme Systems believes that by 2020 about 4 million people will use the Internet of Things, there will be 50 million connected devices, which is approximately 8 devices per person. Besides, more than 25 million IoT applications, embedded and intelligent systems will be developed by this time.

It is estimated that the total revenue from IoT will be as much as £2,6 trillion, including the Automotive industry getting £133 billion, Healthcare getting £46 billion, Consumer Electronics industry – £293 billion, and Utilities industry – £24 billion.

As says the infographic, using the IoT platform will contribute to improved energy consumption, office automation space, security systems, surveillance space and wearables, gesture recognition technologies.

New and existing data streams will allow better insights, enhanced customer service, improved processes, new business opportunities, and competitive edge over competition for small and medium-sized enterprises. The improved Internet infrastructure will keep business profitable and more research opportunities will help to overcome the challenges.
