Leading blockchain gaming company, Gala Games, has announced that it will make its titles available on the Epic Games Store. Per the announcement, its game, GRIT, will be the first release on the store.
The Epic Games Store is traditionally a games store for PC and Mac-compatible games. Launched in 2018, the store has more than 194 million users. It houses the world’s most popular game, Fortnite, which has an average of 3 million users at any given time.
By publishing its titles on the store, Gala Games will be looking to reach a more diverse gaming audience. John Oswald, President of Games at Gala Games, believes that the move will give added legitimacy to blockchain gaming. He said, “Easy access to Web3 games is a turning point for those players who have not yet seen how digital ownership can enrich the gaming experience.”
About GRIT
Like Fortnite, GRIT is a battle royale game set in the gun-slinging Wild West. The game is designed on the Unreal Engine with realistic physics and unique twists. Across different modes, players saddle up and battle through town while slinging guns in epic shootouts. The free game is set to launch later this year.
Gala Games will share more details about the game unveiled during its Galaverse from June 6-9. At the Galaverse, participants will have access to 10,000 unique gun-slinging avatars with a utility on GRIT. Attendees and Node owners will get access on June 7th and 8th while the rest of the public will be able to purchase the avatars by June 9th.

Recently, the company announced a web3 first-person shooter (FPS) with AAA studio. It also announced the world’s first NFT eSports, titled Spider Tanks which is set to debut later in the year.
Following the latest announcement, the value of GALA tokens spiked and is currently trading at $0.0802, according to CoinMarketCap.
