BetVIP.com, the world’s first licensed bitcoin-only sportsbook, has released this infographic detailing the rise of the popular but controversial virtual currency.

The 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil will start in just a couple of days, and launching just in time is a new venture from South African entrepreneur Daniel Schwartzkopff: BetVIP — the world’s first licensed bitcoin sportsbook.

BetVIP hold a gaming licence in Curacao, and only accept bets from regulated markets. They pride themselves on transparency and accountability for their clients and offer peace and mind for punters, with cutting-edge security and encryption.

Mr. Schwartzkopff stresses that BetVIP is not a PR stunt during the 2014 World Cup but rather a long-term bitcoin venture.

“Our gaming license and strict bet acceptance policy demonstrates our commitment to the longevity of the currency. There is a massive opportunity to provide both a secure and reliable platform for bitcoin holders and take on the traditional online sportsbooks,” Schwartzhopff said.

Football is the biggest market at present, but the company is experiencing rapid growth as people log in to bet on golf, tennis, and American favourites likes baseball, ice hockey and basketball.

The company has just released the interesting infographic below about Bitcoin biography.
