Aptos partners with SK Telecom to integrate Tether’s USDT into T Wallet, enhancing global access to stablecoins and digital finance.

Aptos Foundation has collaborated with South Korea’s SK Telecom to bring Tether’s USDT USDT $1.00 24h volatility: 0.0% Market cap: $144.02 B Vol. 24h: $43.28 B stablecoin into SK Telecom’s T wallet. This initiative will offer over 30 million users access to the USDT stablecoin on a high-performance blockchain, providing near-instant and cost-efficient digital transactions powered by Aptos.

According to the release, the collaboration will mark the first use of the Move programming language to host USDT, which will help make access to digital currency more global through Aptos’ high-performance and secure infrastructure. With T wallet integrated into the PASS app, users can access stablecoins via familiar web2 login features, simplifying digital currency adoption and offering users a seamless entry into blockchain-based financial tools.

Aptos and SK Telecom Drive Blockchain Adoption in Digital Finance

The collaboration is also expected to make stablecoin ideal for micro- and large-scale payments. By leveraging the Move programming language, Aptos has improved its performance. This is expected to bolster global access to USDT and appeal to developers, opening doors for new tools and applications on Aptos.

SK Telecom’s adoption of Aptos aligns with a growing financial trend where leading institutions explore blockchain. Industry players such as Franklin Templeton, Ondo Finance, and Libre have recently integrated their financial products on the Aptos platform, marking the blockchain as a key player in real-world asset tokenization and digital finance. The Aptos Foundation aims to establish its network as a foundational element for future-ready finance by fostering these connections.

Adding USDT has made Aptos the top choice for finance solutions. The platform stated that Blockcrunch labeled Aptos as a standout blockchain due to its speed and lower gas fees compared to other layer 1 networks. They said:

“USDT’s addition underscores Aptos as the platform of choice for future-ready finance solutions.  In a recent report, Blockcrunch highlighted Aptos as a standout blockchain, boasting sub-second speeds, 99.99% uptime, and up to 100x lower gas fees compared to other Layer 1 networks.”

A New Era for Financial Transactions on Aptos

The collaboration is also part of the larger Aptos Ascend initiative, which is designed to broaden blockchain adoption and make it usable for traditional financial businesses through partnerships with industry giants such as Microsoft and Boston Consulting Group. Aptos revealed:

“Aptos Ascend, an initiative from Aptos Labs, leverages partnerships with industry giants including MSFT, BCG, Brevan Howard, and SK Telecom to make blockchain technology more accessible and beneficial for traditional financial entities.”

With the Aptos x SK Telecom collaboration, Tether’s USDT is set to become more accessible to millions of users, signaling a promising step forward in Aptos’s mission to shape a globally inclusive financial ecosystem.

“Aptos is becoming the backbone of real-world asset tokenization and institutional finance solutions, offering the scalability and security needed for lasting impact,” the Aptos website reads.
